KCE Competition Tracker
Understanding Season Standings & Competition Tiers
The KCE Competition Tracker uses three separate systems that work together throughout the season:
- Season Standings determine the Overall and Tier Champions.
- Competition Tiers create fair competition by grouping drivers of similar skill.
- Season Rankings measure driver performance and help determine Competition Tiers for future seasons.
Competition Tiers Are Locked
Before each season begins, every eligible driver is assigned a Competition Tier based on the previous season’s Tier Rankings. Once the season starts, that Competition Tier is locked and will not change until the following season.
This ensures every driver competes in the same Tier Championship from the first race to the final race.
Compete Within Your Tier
After every race, championship points are updated and drivers move up or down within their locked Competition Tier.
You compete for both the Overall Championship and your Tier Championship. Your championship position changes throughout the season, but your Competition Tier remains the same.
Live Rating
Separate from the championship is your numeric Live Rating, which measures current-season performance using the Competition Tracker’s weighted ranking formula.
The Live Rating helps inform the next preseason calculation. It does not change your locked Competition Tier during the current season.
Building for Next Season
When the season is complete, your final Season Ranking becomes part of your historical performance record and is used to help generate proposed Competition Tiers for the following season.
Two Rankings, Two Purposes
The Race Within the Race
Every driver competes for the Overall Championship while also battling drivers within their own Competition Tier, creating multiple championships running simultaneously throughout the season.
