@Members We have created a new channel for tips, help, and coaching. At KCE racing, we strive to be open, honest, and want to help other drivers get better. It only benefits the league with better racing. This topic has been mentioned by several drivers and we are hoping to create content that will help beginner to intermediate drivers. At this time, only a few admins have the ability to post. We want to keep this channel fairly clean and clutter free. If you have a request for help, please post in "member-help". If you are an experienced driver and want to help or have found content that has helped you out, please message me directly.

DJ Yee-J is one YouTube content creator I have followed for quite a while. This video has some really good basics about getting into the corners for oval tracks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6IZwG2annI

How to save tires. DJ Yee-J video is a little nerdy and information is a little dense. I also included one from Schildhouse. Another must Youtube content contributor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xGMf5cFM1Ro and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vP7yMoVZrck (edited)

General Tips most likely best for beginners. I will be updating as I get additional information.
1. Turn your tire volume up to 100%. If you are sliding your tires and causing them to squel, you are hurting them.
2. Most new drivers will over drive the corners. By lifting/braking a little earlier will allow you to get back to partial throttle sooner. Slow down, to go faster.
2. Turn the wheel a little as possible in the corner. Lots of wheel will cause your RF to heat up and wear faster.
3. The throttle is not an on/off switch. Learn to modulate the throttle corner off and gradually get back to 100%.
4. Wait about a half second longer than you think before getting back into the throttle.
5. Get used to using 14 or 16:1 on any track at/over 1.5 miles. Turning the steering wheel the same amount moves the wheels less, so you are less likely to turn the wheels more than you need to, thereby reducing wear. Because the wheels don't turn as quickly the car may drive a little more stable, or less twitchy.
6. Shoot for .3-.5 seconds slower than your qualifing lap (in fixed) to start out races. Always practice a full fuel run to gauge if you are starting out to fast or slow.
7. Practice, practice, practice your pit stops. By being clean in the pits, you can make up so much time on faster drivers.
8. Finish the race. Get the damage fixed and finish the race. You wrecked it, you drive it.
9. In practice, jump into cockpit view of a faster car to watch potential different racing lines and brake/throttle input.
10. Get used to looking 3-5 cars in front of you. Many accidents can be avoided by spotting trouble early.
11. Save your race files. Go back and watch laps you wrecked or was wrecked. Ask yourself if you could have avoided it? Don't beat yourself up. Learn and move on.
12. Early in the race, let faster/more agressive cars pass you. Its likely they will burn up their tires or wreck themselves and others around them. (edited)

Skip to the 10 minute mark to hear Junior talk about how Senior explain to Junior how to race Bristol. It speaks to the slow down, to go faster theory.

What you should be working on to get better and increase Irating. This was compiled from several Iracing coaches.
1. Beginner to 1500 Irating
A. Car control. Practing getting near the wall on corner entry without fear of hitting it.
B. In a practice session, find the edge. It's okay to spin it, its the only way to find out.
C. If you find out you never spin it, you are being too overly safe.
D. Practice partial gas pedal input on corner exit and get used to exiting near the wall.
2. 1500-2000 Irating. Drivers in this range generall fall into two categories
A. Afraid to push. You must practice the car on the limit and over the limit in order to get the most out of the car.
B. Push too hard and spinning too much. Back up corner entry which allows you to get back to the throttle sooner. Passes should be made on exit and getting below the other car going down the straights and then finish the pass in the next corner.
C. Work on smoothness. Turn the wheel a little as possible in the corner. Lots of wheel will cause your RF to heat up and wear faster.
D. Practice long runs too test tire wear. In a 40 lap run, laps 21-40 are just as important. Leaving too much tire is just as big of a problem as wearing them out. Look at tire temps.
